Do You Have Back Pain? Here Are Some Tips

The human back is made up of a complicated set of structures that work together to provide structural support and movement.

The vertebral column is not just one long rod. It is made up of 24 separate bones, called vertebrae, that are stacked on top of each other. These bones vary in size, shape, and function as they get closer to the hip or the head.

The vertebrae are separated by a space called an intervertebral disc--which provides cushioning for the spinal cord and allows for a certain amount of flexibility from front to back.

There are a hundred different care tips that you can use to take care of your back. Here are some:

  • take it slow and easy

  • always move with good posture

  • stretch before and after activities or exercises

  • sleep on a firm mattress and with the proper pillows

  • get up slowly from sitting or lying positions, especially when your muscles have been inactive for a long period of time

  • visit a chiropractor

  • use smaller hand tools rather than large ones to lift and carry objects around the house.

A chiropractor is a healthcare practitioner who addresses musculoskeletal issues like back pain and scoliosis. You can visit a chiropractor for scoliosis should you experience chronic pain.
